Charlottesville Catholic School
Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

The CCS School Mission:
Charlottesville Catholic School provides a rich and challenging curriculum in a community rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Traditions of the Catholic Church. The school nurtures students' God-given gifts, cultivates a life-long thirst for knowledge, and prepares students to embrace their world through lives of faith, service and leadership.

The Charlottesville Catholic School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will support the school’s overall mission by:

  1. Promoting open lines of communication between parents, teachers and administration.
  2. Enhancing a sense of community through social and spiritual activities.
  3. Advancing the spirit of service to meet the volunteer needs of the school.

Update as of November 6, 2008:

The steering committee has been meeting twice monthly since this summer to redesign the HSA into a new organization which will be known as the PTO. We have completed the planning stages including reviewing other successful PTO’s, interviewing all stakeholders including: parents, CCS Administration, teachers, and the School Board.

Having completed the planning stage, we are in the process of building the ideal PTO. To date, we have completed the above mission and identified the leadership roles. In upcoming meetings we will be writing the job descriptions of each of these roles and writing the by-laws.

Our intention is to hold elections in early 2009 for the following positions:

  • President
  • President Elect
  • Treasurer
  • VP of Communication
  • VP of Community
  • VP of Volunteerism

The teachers will also be electing one representative from K-5 and one from the Middle School
