We are excited this year to announce some new and fun things for your pleasure and entertainment. Some things are new to our catalog and others will be experienced on the evening of the auction. Please take a few moments to peruse the information below. We hope you like these changes. We’ve worked hard to make the auction a wonderful and successful evening. Enjoy!

1. We’ve hired a professional auctioneer - Sherry Truhlar and her team from Red Apple Auctions - You won’t be able to miss Sherry. She is full of fun and enthusiasm! Sherry is guaranteed to get everyone involved in all of the activities of the evening and make sure all are having a good time.
2. Bidding Paddles - Did you miss out on something last year because your bidder number wasn’t seen? Don’t worry, that won’t happen this year. When you check in on Auction night you will be given a very nice bidding paddle with your number on one side and the paddle sponsor on the other side. So don’t be shy - raise those paddles!
3. Class gifts are part of the Live Auction - This year we are giving these priceless treasures a well deserved place in the Live Auction. Yes, it will make the ‘live’ part of our Auction run longer, but we feel these wonderful gifts deserve the extra attention and recognition. Don’t you?
4. Heads or Tails - Heads or Tails will be held for the first time at our gala. It’s an interactive game conducted prior to the Live Auction. Here’s how you play: When Sherry announces the game, those who want to play should write their bidder number and number of players (one for an individual, or two for a couple) on the “Heads or Tails” card found on each table. Tickets are $10.00 per person. All participants will be asked to stand by their chairs, and place their hands on either their heads or derriere. Choose one place only, please! If you make all the correct choices, you’ll be going home planning your trip for One Week on Ocracoke Island at “The Dory”! Good luck!
5. Our centerpieces are for sale - Love that centerpiece? Well, guess what? You can take it home! Sherry will guide you through the process to see who the lucky person at each table will be.
6. On-line registration - This year we are helping you to cut down on all that paperwork. Going to the Auction? - Just click on registration and before you know it you’re signed up, paid for and ready to go. It’s a breeze!
7. Super Silent Teacher Gifts - Our wonderful teachers have once again donated their time and talent creating gifts on which you may bid. You will find a table filled with boxes and descriptions of what each teacher has donated. Fill in your bid amount and bidder number on the card and slip it into the box. Once the Silent Auction is closed the winning bidders will be compiled and posted at the table later in the evening.
8. Love Notes - This year in addition to Family Ads we have offered Love Notes. A Love Note sends a special message or greeting to a student, student group, sports team or a favorite faculty or staff member. Flip through our catalog to find out who has received a special message!
9. Finale Table - Well, for some of our seasoned patrons the Finale Table isn’t new. We thought it was such a good idea we’ve brought it back! The Finale Table is a place where you can find some special things that you won’t see in the regular Silent or Live Auctions and don’t want to miss. It’s also a place you can go if you didn’t have the winning bid for that Live Auction item but still want to take something wonderful home. This table will be open all night long and close five (5) minutes - count’em five minutes after the Live Auction. Don’t miss it!
10. Wish Bags - This year buy a Sparkly Wand (your little girl will love you for it!) with a number on it and you get to go home with the corresponding Wish Bag. What’s in the bag? Who knows? You’ve gotta buy one to find out. Bags are guaranteed to have a value of at least the purchase price. You might even get lucky - there are a few with extra special, extra valued prizes. Don’t wait to purchase one, they will be gone before you know it.
11. Valet Parking - And last but not least - this year our event is being held at the lovely Alumni Hall. There won’t be enough parking spaces for everyone. For those with special needs you will find some disability spaces (5) in the back parking lot. Once the parking spaces are full we are offering free valet parking. Just pull up to the front and a friendly young gentleman or lovely lady will be there to assist you. You’ll feel like you have arrived at a five star hotel.
