Tuition and Payment InformationCharlottesville Catholic School uses a ‘Cost-Based / Need-Based’ tuition model for setting the standard tuition rate. The ‘cost-based’ concept encourages schools to do three things. First, determine the true cost of education and calculate the actual cost-per-pupil. Second, establish that calculated cost as the standard tuition rate. And third, convert third party fundraising dollars to a more targeted ‘need-based’ tuition aid. Based on the ‘cost to educate’ model, the standard tuition rate for 2009-10 will be $6,886. (see Financial Grant & Aid options below) While we are aware that this represents a significant investment in your child’s education, please note that this tuition rate is simply the cost to educate your child. No more, no less. In an aim to reduce this burden, we are going to continue to offer substantial multi- child discounts which are detailed below. In addition, it remains our priority to support families with financial constraints. For these families, we will again be budgeting a significant sum from anticipated third party income for financial scholarships in 2009-10. This tuition aid is only possible by having tuition fees set at the true ‘cost to educate’ and by maintaining our development and fundraising efforts. We wish to stress that if tuition rates are a concern, we would encourage you to apply for the additional financial grants and scholarship money through the confidential FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment Service . This can either be done on-line or by completing the FACTS Grant and Aid Application forms, which are available at the school. We emphasize that our goal is to make Catholic education fully accessible to our wide community. That is why this new tuition model focuses on providing the greatest level of financial aid possible. In keeping with Bishop DiLorenzo’s goal to keep the cost of Catholic education as affordable as possible, CCS is, and shall remain, one of the most cost effective institutions among Charlottesville’s private schools, as well as the Diocese of Richmond’s regional Catholic schools. It remains an honor and privilege to meet the intellectual, emotional and spiritual needs of your children here at CCS, and we look forward to welcoming you and your family to our school. 2009-2010 Pre-K Tuition and Fees
