Middle School Academics

Middle School at Charlottesville Catholic School encompasses 6-8 grades. Middle School students are geographically located in a separate wing of CCS but interact with Elementary School students at appropriate times. Subjects are taught in a departmentalized system with some block scheduling being utilized. Students are provided a diverse curriculum, which uses the Diocese of Richmond's Consensus Curriculum for overall guidance. (see curriculum page for more details) Learning objectives are a culmination of the Consensus Curriculum and the assessment provided by each Middle School teacher. Terra Nova standardized test scores indicate this is a successful approach to the CCS Middle School curriculum development and implementation.
